Campaign – Dementia

This campaign is guided by the development of the State Dementia Action Plan, which aims for better outcomes through coordinated care, sooner access to services, and promoting dementia-friendly environments.

Objectives

Increase awareness of dementia in WA.

  • The campaign increases the visibility and understanding early planning to follow a diagnosis.

Promote early assessment and diagnosis of dementia.

  • Prompts early action so people who may have dementia can plan early.

Encourage early care planning with healthcare providers following a dementia diagnosis.

  • Early care planning means being able to decide how you would like to receive care and access the support and services they need to live at home.
Key messages
  • Planning your dementia care early helps you remain in the home you love.
  • Don’t wait to seek support from a healthcare provider.
  • Seek an early dementia assessment.
Target audience
  • Western Australians above 50 years old.
  • People living with dementia, their family, and their carers.

  • September 2026 to November 2026
