The immunisation updates have been developed by the Communicable Disease Control Directorate (CDCD), WA Department of Health. These online modules creates a solution to the provision of immunisation updates, in an efficient and effective manner for immunisation service providers.
Immunisation providers that are not working under the CEO of Health SASA (e.g. working in general practices or in a hospital under a medical order) are recommended, but not required, to complete this training.
Any major changes to information in the modules will be communicated via Vaccine Updates. If you are not already subscribed to Vaccine Updates, you can find more information at Immunisation provider information and resources (health.wa.gov.au).
Important information
- The online immunisation updates are provided free of charge.
- The online immunisation updates are available for single user use only.
- The online immunisation education accounts are temporary. Please following instructions below on how to access the modules.
- Within the slides are interaction tabs which you can use by clicking on the PREV and NEXT buttons. Clicking on these will take you to the next content slide.
- The program should be usable on most desktop browsers such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, and is best accessed through the use of a desktop or a laptop. The use of iPads and mobile phones is not recommended as the content may not launch in the Articulate Mobile Player.

Users with existing accounts
1.If the Rise Immunisation Education URL goes straight to the ‘Sign-in’ page, the user’s account already exists, and users can log in with their current log-in details. If these details are forgotten, then the user can select the ‘Forgot Password’ option to create new log-in details. An instructional email from Rise Education will be sent straight away.
2.If the user does not receive an email from Rise Education to create new log-in details, or their current log-in details are no longer valid, users will need to simply use the link in Step 1 below to re-register.
Process to access education modules
- In order to access the online education modules, users will need to register via this link
- Users will need to register with their preferred email address.

- User will then receive an email with a link to create an account.

- Once registered, click on the ‘Browse Library’ option to view all the modules.

- Save the URL: immunisation-education.rise.comin your favourites for easy access to the course.
Note: No record of any assessments or certificate are kept. After successful completion of the respective update, it is up to the individual to save a PDF (via the print function) or print a copy of their own certificate.
Troubleshooting tips
- Please allow pop-ups from the program to allow full usage of the immunisation updates. This can be done from the tools tab in your browser settings.
- If when you access the modules, it shows your completion from a previous year, try refreshing your cache/delete your browser history. Once the cache is cleared, the module should be current, and the date should change when you complete the module.

Immunisation update module
The Immunisation update module has been developed by WA Department of Health to provide all WA immunisation providers access to current immunisation education. Immunisation providers working under the CEO of Health SASA must complete this update annually.
The update comprises of 4 modules including scenarios and quizzes. It will take approximately 4 hours to complete and can be completed over multiple sessions.
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) module
The RSV module has been developed by WA Department of Health to support immunisation providers in the implementation of the WA Health RSV Infant and Maternal Immunisation Program. This education module is a requirement of the RSV Immunisation CEO of Health Structured Administration and Supply Arrangements (SASA).
This module should take approximately 45 minutes and can be completed over multiple sessions.
Influenza module
The Influenza module has been developed as an annual refresher for immunisation providers and provides the user with up-to-date influenza immunisation information. Please refer to the education requirements table (PDF 25KB) to see if this applies to you.
- This module should take approximately 2 hours and can be completed over multiple sessions.
- You are required to complete the final assessment with a passing score of 80%.
Shingles module
The Shingles module has been developed to support immunisation providers who wish only to undertake a refresher in this topic. This module provides the user with an overview of shingles vaccine and vaccination.
This module should take approximately 45 minutes and can be completed over multiple sessions.
Public health perspective module
The Public health perspective module has been developed to support immunisation providers who wish only to undertake a refresher in this topic. This module provides the user with an overview of public health including the immune system and health promotion.
This module should take approximately 45 minutes and can be completed over multiple sessions.
