SMHS Cancer Plan 2024–34

The South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) Cancer Plan 2024–34 (PDF 9.2MB) sets out how we will provide exceptional care to Western Australians impacted by cancer.

Outlining our commitment to prevention, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and palliative care over the next decade, the plan will help reduce barriers and transform how we deliver cancer care.

The plan addresses the physical, emotional, psychological, and geographic challenges faced by people with cancer, with a focus on equity, particularly for Aboriginal communities and those disadvantaged by their socioeconomic circumstances or geographic location.

Work is already underway to progress implementation of the priorities highlighted in the plan.
