'Put it to the People' engagement platform
SMHS values hearing the diverse experiences and insights of our patients, families, carers and community.
Building strong partnerships with these stakeholders is a strategic priority for SMHS, and helps us plan, evaluate and improve care across our hospital network and community-based services.
Your voice is important to how we deliver care
Our easy-to-use online community engagement platform – Put it to the People (external site) – gives our consumers and community a voice in how SMHS delivers health care.
SMHS is the first health service provider in Western Australia to offer this form of community engagement.
From the comfort of their own home, consumers and community members can:
- comment on SMHS services and activities that impact on them
- share ideas on how SMHS can best deliver health care
- contribute to interest groups to exchange and capture information
- hear about new initiatives
- learn about the health service
- ask questions about issues they would like to know more about.
Platform users can choose their level of involvement, ranging from being informed about our work to participating in service redesign.
The platform includes a range of consultation tools, including:
- surveys and forms
- forums enabling two-way discussion and debate
- question and answer
- interactive web maps on which users can pin feedback and images
- quick polling tools.
