08/11/2024

Last night South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) took home six wins across ten award categories at the 2024 WA Health Excellence Awards, including the overall winner of the night – the Director General’s Award, which went to our Virtual Immunology Clinic for General Practice.

SMHS had at least one finalist nominated in each award category which is a phenomenal achievement, demonstrating the high-quality, innovative and patient-centred care that we pride ourselves on.

Aside from being a fantastic result, what really shines through this year for our winners is their focus on collaboration. Five of our category award wins feature partnerships with other health and government organisations, demonstrating how we come together to troubleshoot, innovate and improve for the benefit of those in our care.

We couldn’t be prouder to have these individuals and teams representing SMHS. Please join us in congratulating our colleagues on being recognised for their contributions at the state level.
